Demetra Vanezi Liasou, born in Rizokarpaso, Cyprus, is a celebrated artist whose work bridges tradition and contemporary expression. She honed her craft at the prestigious "ABC" School of Art in Paris and is a proud member of the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts "E.KA.TE." From 2003 to 2008, she was an active participant in the European Academy of Arts in France, contributing to its annual exhibitions.
With an impressive career spanning decades, Demetra has held 16 solo exhibitions and established a permanent gallery in Larnaca, Cyprus. Her artistic journey includes notable milestones such as exhibiting at the Florence Biennale (2001), the Paris Triennale (2002), and the first Larnaca Biennale (2018). Her works are showcased in esteemed venues like the Cyprus State Gallery, municipal galleries, and private collections across the globe, including Cyprus, Australia, Africa, Europe, and America.
Rooted in her heritage yet universally resonant, Demetra’s art explores themes of memory, identity, and emotion. Her evocative creations continue to captivate audiences worldwide. Currently residing in Larnaca, Cyprus, she operates her own workshop and gallery, offering visitors a glimpse into her creative world.
